Mundaka celebrates an extraordinary and curious carnaval festival involving men, called "atorrak" and women, called "lamiak". The typical dress of Atorrak is white skirt, a white loose shirt and white trousers, as well as a pillowcase as a hood and neck scarf. Lamiak wear a black dress, white wig, a colored headscarf and make-up. The Atorrak in the morning and the Lamiak in the afternoon, liven up the streets of Mundaka with their good humour, songs and dances.
